Pastor Furman F. Fordham II
Furman F. Fordham II is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, the middle child of three children. He graduated from Pine Forge Academy, Oakwood University and Andrews University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and a Master of Divinity degree.
He as served as a Youth Pastor in Melbourne, Australia, as an Assistant Pastor in Chicago, Illinois, and as lead Pastor of churches in the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska prior to becoming the Senior Pastor of Riverside in Nashville. Since that time, God has used him to add to the congregation’s rich heritage, a progressive, Spirit-filled, mission-oriented ministry.
Professionally, He has carved out a niche as a church organizational leadership trainer, adept at transitioning churches from maintenance mode to a mission mindset. In 2009 he co-authored, with Eddie Polite, his first book, Mission-Driven Ministry, which focuses on the organizational structure of the local church and its reorganization for maximum mission effectiveness.
Furman is married to the former Jennifer Gill, an elementary school teacher turned home-schooling mom, and they have three sons—Furman III (PACE), Irvin Gill (PAX), and Jennings Walter (PRICE). In addition to family, his interests include Kansas City Chief’s Football, bowties, and playing any card or board game imaginable.
Pastor Fordham’s personal purpose statement is to be a growing Christian, an adoring husband, an exceptional father, and an excellent pastor—simultaneously.
